Woman killed by lightning strike in Natore

A woman died after being struck by lightning at Gurudaspur upazila in Natore district on Friday. 

The deceased was identified as Abera Begum, 40, wife of Saddam Hossain, a resident of Ananda Nagar Moholla in Gurudaspur municipality. 

It was learnt that Abera was struck by lightning while bringing her duck from a nearby waterbody during rain around 2:30 pm, leaving her critically injured. 

She was rushed to Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors pronounced her dead, said Fazlur Rahman, councilor of Ward No. 9. 
 
Dr. Soiti Munsi, the duty doctor of the upazila health complex, said the relatives brought the housewife here, but she had already died before.
