Farmer killed in Naogaon lightning

A farmer died after being struck by lightning at Manda upazila in Naogaon district on Friday afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Shamsul Alam, 34, son of Moinuddin, a resident of Volam village in the upazila. 

Locals said that Shamsul Alam was struck by a streak of lightning while he was working in paddy field amid rain, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of  Manda Police Station, confirmed the matter.
