Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) organized an exchange meeting on ”Acquiring quality products in domestic and international markets” at Bangabandhu conference hall at World Trade Center on Monday.
BSTI director general SM Ferdous Alam was present as the chief guest while CCCI Vice-President Raisa Mahbub presided over the event.
BSTI director general SM Ferdous Alam said, ''Historically Chittagong is the center of trade and commerce. So with the traders of Chittagong how to get quality products in domestic and international market in future this meeting has been organized to seek the views of the stakeholders for confirmation.''
He also said, ''We have to keep in mind that if we cannot export quality products abroad, then the reputation of the country will be damaged as well as the businessmen of the country will suffer.''
CCCI Vice-President Raisa Mahbub said businessmen should work with integrity. Not everyone will bear the responsibility of a few unscrupulous traders. We have to conduct business keeping health risks in mind.
CAB Chattogram President SM Najer Hossain, CCCI director Anjan Shekhar Das, Mahfuzul Haque Shah, C&F Agents Association Joint Secretary Golam Rabbani and Customs Affairs Secretary Ashraful Haque Khan Swapan, CAB general secretary Iqbal Bahar Saberi, Ajit Kumar Das of BSP Food Products Ltd, MJL Bangladesh PLC of ASM Solaiman, Orbis Trading of International Zafar Ullah, Abul Khair Group Zahirul Islam, CCCI director Md Ahid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan), Md Adnanul Islam, Akhtar Uddin Mahmud and Omar Muktadir, senior officials of BSTI and business representatives were present on the occasion.
