The Meteorological Department of
Bangladesh (
BMD) predicted that light to moderate
rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind and moderately heavy to heavy falls at different places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am on Tuesday.
"Light to moderate rain or
thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said the weather bulletin issued this morning.
Also, the bulletin predicted that the ongoing mild to moderate heat wave which is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Gopalgonj, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Pabna and Patuakhali may continue.
"Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to excessive moisture content the discomfort may persist," it added. Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 39.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishurdi, Tarash and Sylhet. While, today's minimum temperature 23.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Chapainawabganj.
Rainfall for the last 24 hours commencing 6 am today was recorded 148mm at Meherpur in Khulna.
The sun sets at 6:46 pm today and rises at 5:10 am tomorrow in the capital.
