A Dhaka court on Tuesday rejected bail prayer of accused Celesty Rahman in a case filed over abduction of Jhenaidah MP Anwarul Azim Anar with the motive to murder.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tariqul Islam passed the order after hearing the bail prayer, said GRO Md Jalaluddin.
On Sunday, another Dhaka court placed Jhenaidah Awami League leader Kazi Kamal Ahmed Babu alias Gas Babu on a seven-day remand in the sensational murder case.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Monday rejected the bail prayer of Shimul Bhuiyan and Tanvir Bhuiyan in the case.
Last week, Celesty Rahman along with two other accused who were arrested in Bangladesh confessed to their crimes in MP Anar murder.
Anwarul Azim Anar, MP, of ruling Awami League, crossed the Darshana-Gede border into India for treatment on May 12.
He was staying at his friend Gopal Biswass home in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Since then, he could not be reached by phone. Eventually, the Bangladesh government confirmed his death on May 22, citing Indian police.
Anar was a three-time MP and also President of Kaliganj upazila unit of Awami League.
