5 shops gutted in Gaibandha fire

Five shops were completely gutted in a fire that broke out at a market in Gaibandhaj Sadar upazila of Gaibandha district on Wednesday night.

The incident happened in crossing of South Analertarir School area under Kholahati union in the upazila.

Locals said the fire originated from a shop in the area and it engilfed near shops within a moment. 

Gobindaganj Fire Service and Civil Defence official said firefighters, on information, rushed to the spot and douse the blaze within a short time.
However, five shops along with all goods were completely burnt before the fire under control. 

The official assumed that the fire might have originated from a mosquito coil. 

The lost caused by the fire estimated Tk 25 lakh, the fire service official added.
