13 shops burnt in Bhola, Noakhali

At least 13 shops were burnt in separate incidents in two districts - Bhola and Noakhali, in two days.  
CHAR FASSON, BHOLA: At least five shops were gutted by fire in Char Fasson Upazila of the district early Sunday.
The fire originated at a shop in Voktirhat Market under Nazrulnagar Union in the upazila at around 3:30 am.
It was known that the fire broke out at Nirobs shop in the market, and the flame engulfed other shops within a short time.
Locals tried to douse the fire but could not.
Later on, a team of Char Fasson Fire Service Station went there and brought the fire under control after one hour attempts.
Asaduzzaman, station officer of Char Fasson Fire Service, confirmed the incident, adding that the damage from the fire is estimated around Tk 15 lakh.
NOAKHALI: Eight shops were gutted by fire in Chatkhil Upazila of the district on Saturday noon.
The incident took place at Sahapur Bazar at around 1 pm.
Locals said the fire began at a shop in the market at noon, and it soon engulfed the adjacent shops.
On information, the Fire Service personnel rushed in and controlled the blaze after an hour of effort.
The affected traders claimed that goods worth about Tk 25 lakh were completely destroyed due to the fire.
Chatkhil Fire Service Station Leader Abul Kalam confirmed the incident, adding that the fire might have originated from an electric short     circuit.
