A man and two schoolboys died in separate unnatural incidents in three districts - Noakhali, Jashore and Dinajpur, recently.
NOAKHALI: A schoolboy died after falling from the roof of a five-storey building in Begumganj Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md Sayem, 11, a fourth grader at Modanmohan Primary School and son of Md Nurnabi, hailed from Bahadurpur Village in the upazila. He along with his parents lived in a rented house in Ward No. 4 Golabaria Dighi area under Chowmuhani Municipality.
It was known that Sayem fell from the roof of the building of their rented house in the afternoon while playing with other children. He died on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Police Station (PS) Md Anwarul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
SHARSHA, JASHORE: A man was killed after a branch of a tree fell on him during storm in Sharsha Upazila of the district recently.
The incident occurred on the Jamtola-Shorsha road in front of Rifa Brix of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Zohor Ali, 47, a resident of Borobaria Village in the upazila.
Local Union Parishad (UP) Member Saheb Ali said a branch of a tree fell on Zohor Ali during storm while he was returning home from a market by riding on a bicycle, which left him critically injured.
Locals then rescued him and took to a private hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the UP member added.
Sharsha PS OC Moniruzzaman confirmed the incident.
NAWABGANJ, DINAJPUR: A schoolboy died after being injured while playing football in Nawabganj Upazila of the district recently.
The incident took place on Shalkhuria Government Primary School Field in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Samiul Islam, 11, son of Joynal Hossain, a resident of Beramalia Village in the upazila. He was a fifth grader at Beramalia Government Primary School.
Upazila Assistant Education Officer Parimal Chandra Barman said a a match between two teams of Beramalia and Tentulia Government Primary Schools was running on Shalkhuria Government Primary School Field on the occasion of Bangabandhu and Bangamata Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament. During the match, Samiul was injured. Later on, he was rescued and immediately taken to Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the assistant education officer added.
Nawabganj PS Inspector (Investigation) Mominuzzaman confirmed the incident.
