2 held with hemp in Sherpur

Police arrested two people along with 700 grams of hemp from Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur district early Friday.

The arrested men are Al-Amin, 24, a resident of Gobind Kalinagar village in the upazila, and Azizur Rahman alias Kalu Miah, 65, a resident of Sokpara village from the same upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in Gobind Kalinagar area early Friday and arrested the duo along with the drugs, said Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station. 

The arrested drug peddlers produced before the sherpur court on Friday afternoon, he added.
