Minor drowns at Kalapara

KALAPARA, PATUAKHALI, June 26: A minor child drowned in a pond in Kalapara Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Pakshiyapara Village under Baliatali Union of the upazila at around         11 am.
The deceased was identified as Junayed Hawlader, 7, son of Shimul Hawlader of the village.
According to the deceaseds family, Junayed slipped into a pond next to the house while he was playing on its bank.
After getting no response from him for a while, the family members started searching for him and found him floating on water.
They then rescued Junayed and took to Kalapara Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physicians declared him dead.
