Tk 1,045cr CCC budget declared

CUMILLA, July 1: A total of Tk 1,044 crore 50 lakh 83 thousand and 464 budget of Cumilla City Corporation (CCC) for 2024-25 financial year was declared on Sunday noon.

A budget announcement function was held in the Autindra Mohan Ray conference room of the Nagar Bhaban.

As the first ever elected woman mayor, CCC Mayor Dr Tahsin Bahar Suchona announced the budget.
 
The budget included Tk 79,35,32,000 as revenue earning and development grant of Tk 835,55,00,000.

Total earning has been fixed at Tk 914,97,37,000; primary fund has been fixed at Tk 129,53,46,464; own expenditure has been fixed at Tk 54,50,45,000; development expenditure has been fixed at Tk 958,86,59,783; and the closing fund has been fixed at Tk 31,13,78,681.

In her budget speech, the CCC mayor  said, "Illogical taxes including holding tax will not be imposed in consideration of interest of the city-dwellers; yet we have taken some plans for realising pending taxes; we have also taken some plans for building planned city, solving traffic jam and water-logging problems, evicting illegal parking installations, identifying unapproved buildings, and beautifying the city through roof gardens."

Acting Chief Executive Officer of the CCC Ashrafun Nahar, Chief Engineer GP Chowdhury, executive engineers Abu Sayem Bhuiyan and Mainuddin Chisti, panel mayors Habibul Al Amin Sadi and Manzur Quader Moni, general and reserved seat councillors, and civil society representatives were present at the budget function.
