Aunt, niece killed in Moulvibazar road accident

A 48-year-old woman and her eight-year-old niece were killed after two several trucks ran them over at Sreemangal upazila in Moulvibazar district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Pyara Begum, a resident of Pattrikul village under  Bhunabir union in the upazila, and her niece Sadia Aktar, who came to her aunt's house for visiting. 

It was learnt that, two trucks run over the duo in Pattrikul area any time at night, leaving them dead on the spot. 

Following this incident, agitated mob blocked the road for a while.
Later, police went there and brought the situation under control.

On information, police have visited the area and the situation is under control now, said Binoy Bhuson Roy, officer in-charge of Sreemangal Police Station.

The vehicles have been seized in the connection with the incidents, he added.
