Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) held an exchange meeting with research delegation at Korea International Co-Operation Agency (KOICA) at the chamber office at World Trade Centre on Thursday.
Koica director general Jongmin Park said that Korea is working as one of Bangladesh's development partners. In the next 5 years, Korea will train and hire workers from Bangladesh in various sectors, especially in painting, welding, mechatronics, IT and industrial automation sectors. As a part of this, the amount of manpower in Chattogram will be found out through research and training will be provided according to the needs of the industry.
He also said Korea has played a significant role in the current position of Bangladesh's manufacturing sector. In the future, Korea will work to build skilled manpower in productive sectors in Bangladesh and Chattogram.
CCCI President Omar Hazzaz said that despite the geographical distance between Bangladesh and South Korea, there is a strong relationship between the two countries. The contribution of Korea is behind the current position of Bangladesh's garment sector. Korea is also working to improve technical education. He appreciated Korea's efforts to import skilled human resources from Bangladesh and create skilled human resources in the productive sector.
