Police recovered the body of a minor girl, who had been missing since Thursday morning, from a paddy field at Monohardi upazila in Narsingdi district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ayesa Aktar, 19 months old, daughter of Asad Sarkar, a resident of Harordia Purbopara village in the upazila.
It was learnt that Ayesa went missing at around 9:00 am on Thursday. After sensing her absence, family members and locals searched her throughout the day but could not find her anywhere.
Later, at around 10:00 am on Friday, Kamrul Islam, a local resident, spotted her floating in a paddy field while he was going to field for bringing cow.
On information, police recovered the body and handed it to her family as there were no allegation in this regard, said MD Abul Kasem Bhaiya, officer in-charge of Monohardi Police Station.
An unnatural death case will be filed in this regard, he added.
