Wild elephant kills fish trader in Coxs Bazar

COXS BAZAR, July 6: A fish trader was killed after being trampled by a wild elephant in the district early Friday.
The incident took place in Darianagar Borochhara area at around 3 am.
The deceased was identified as Monir Alam.
Local sources said a wild elephant has been roaming around in various places including Darianagar and Himchhari for the last couple of days.
At around 3 am on Friday, the wild elephant attacked on Monir Alam in front of Darianagar Veterinary University Campus while he was returning home after selling fish, which left him critically injured.
Locals then rescued Monir and took to a hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
