In Bangladesh, TikTok removed 7,171,832 videos for breaching Community Guidelines during January- March 2024, with a proactive removal rate of 99.4% and 94.0% of these videos being removed within 24 hours of posting.
In a global effort to safeguard younger users, TikTok also deleted 21,639,414 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13, says a press release.
TikTok removed 166,997,307 obnoxious videos worldwide, representing about 0.9% of all videos uploaded on the platform, showcasing the platforms dedication to fostering a safe environment for its global community.
A substantial portion of these, 129,335,793 videos, were identified and removed through automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were reinstated upon further review, said its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report released on Sunday.
In a bid to enhance transparency, TikTok has now disclosed the number of comments removed and filtered by comment safety tools for the first time. TikTok has removed and filtered 976,479,946 comments using comment safety tools during this three-month period, representing 1.6% of all comments posted.
Additionally, creators utilized comment safety tools to filter or remove 3,381,646,722 comments, reflecting a proactive approach to maintaining community standards.
