Water levels at 53
river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (
FFWC) have marked rise, while 54 stations recorded fall.
Among the 110 monitored river stations, water levels at three stations have remained steady, while water levels at 21 stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.
The Dudhkumar at Pateshwari (Kurigram), the Dharia river at Kurigram, the Ghagot river at Gaibandha, the Brahmaputra at Noonkhawa (Kurigram), at Hatia( Kurigram), at Chilmari (Kurigram), the Jamuna river at Fulchari, at Bahadurabad, at Saghata (Gaibnadha), at Sariakandi, at Kazipur (Serajganj), at Jagannathganj (Jamalpur), at Serajganj, at Porabari (Tangail), the Atrai at Baghabari (Serajganj), the Surma at Kanaighat (Sylhet), the Kushiyara river at Amalshid, at Sheola, at Markuli, the Someshwari at Kalmakanda and the Meghna at Meghna Bridge (Munshiganj ) are flowing 39cm, 29cm, 14cm, 43 cm, 45cm, 55cm, 63cm, 74cm, 52cm, 49cm, 112cm, 60 cm, 29cm, 08cm, 41cm, 57cm, 02cm, 26cm, 21cm, and 23 cm above the danger level respectively.
The Brahmaputra river is in falling trend while the Jamuna river is in steady state. Both river may fall slowly in the next 48 hours, the FFWC bulletin said adding the Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend, which may continue in next 48 hours.
All the rivers in the North-eastern region of the country are in overall falling trend, which may continue in the next 48 hours.
In the next 48 hours, the flood situation at some low-lying places of Brahmaputra-Jamuna river along Kurigram, Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogura, Tangail and Sirajganj districts may improve.
In the next 24 hours, the Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern region of the country may fall and the flood situation in the low-lying areas along the Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers of Kurigram district may improve slowly.
In the next 24 hours, the water level of Atrai river at Baghabari point may remain steady in the north-western region and the Ghaghot river at Gaibandha point may fall in the northern region of the country.
As a result, the flood situation at Sirajganj district along the low-lying areas of river Atrai may remain steady and the flood situation at Gaibandha District along the low-lying areas of river Ghaghot may improve.
In the next 24 hours, the Bangali, Upper Karatoa, Punarvaba, Tangon, Ichamoti-Jamuna, Atrai, Mahananda and Little-Jamuna rivers in the northern and north-western regions of the country may rise at times.
In the next 48 hours, the Padma river at Goalundo point may flow close to its warning level.
In the next 48 hours, the flood situation in the different low-lying areas of the North-eastern region may improve.
Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am today.
A total of 75 mm of rainfall were recorded at Lorergarh (Sunamganj), 65mm at Jariajanjail, 67mm at Chattak (Sunamganj) and 45 mm at Chattogram.
During the last 24 hours, significant rainfalls (mm) were recorded in some states like West Bengal and Mizoram of India, the bulletin added.
