Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested 17 people including PSC Chairman's former driver Syed Abed Ali Jibon, his son and three senior officers of PSC for allegedly leaking 30 recruitment exam questions including Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam.
The arrestees include PSC chairman's driver Abed Ali and his son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, who is the Relief and Disaster Management Secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League's Dhaka North unit.
This information was confirmed on Monday (July 8) from the headquarters of the CID.
Earlier, on Sunday night, after the broadcust of an investigative report on a private television channel, the CID launched a raid.
According to the report, the alleged PSC officials and employees are Deputy Director Abu Zafar, Deputy Director Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director SM Alamgir Kabir, Assistant Director Nikhil Chandra Roy, Chairman's former driver Syed Abed Ali Jibon and Office Assistant Khalilur Rahman.
The report revealed that the syndicate of six officials and employees of the PSC had been involved in leaking exam questions for a long time.
One of the accused is Syed Abed Ali alias Jibon, the PSC chairman's former chauffeur. Despite being a chauffeur, Abed Ali, a resident of Dasar Upazila in Madaripur district, has amassed a fortune worth millions, according to a report by Channel 24.
