Five people found dead in five districts

Five people including a teenage girl were found dead in separate incidents in five districts - Chattogram, Narayanganj, Sirajganj, Pabna and Netrakona, in three days.
RAOZAN, CHATTOGRAM: The body of a teenage boy was recovered from a canal in Raozan Upazila of the district on Monday night.
The body was recovered at around 10 pm from a canal adjacent to the Halda River near Harpara Village under Urkirchar Union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 16, son of Abdul Haki, a resident of the area.
It was known that Saiful left his house for catching fish on Monday afternoon, but he did not return in the evening.
Later on, Saifuls family members started to search for him and found his floating body in the canal. They then informed the matter to police.
On information, police recovered the body from the scene and handed it over to the deceaseds family members without an autopsy upon their request.
Sub-Inspector of Purba Guzara Police Investigation Centre Ariful Islam confirmed the incident.
NARAYANGANJ: Police recovered the body of a young man from a pond in the district on Monday.
The identity of the deceased, aged about 25, could not be known immediately.
Police sources said that local people spotted the body of the youth floating in a pond in Ward No. 25 Uttar Laxmankhola area under the city corporation on Monday and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The body bore no injury marks.
Bandar Police Station (PS) Inspector (Investigation) Abu Bakkar Siddique said that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and trying to identify the deceased.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the PS Golam Mostafa confirmed the incident.
SIRAJGANJ: Police recovered the body of a college student from the Karatoa River in Shahjadpur Upazila of the district on Monday, three days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Maruf, 18, son of Abdul Hamid, a resident of Dwariapur area in the upazila. He was a student of Shahjadpur Government College.
It was known that Maruf was working on a sand barge in Mohammadpur area under Beltail Union of the upazila three days back. He accidentally came in contact with live electricity and fell into the river on July 6, failing to resurface. Locals started searching for him that evening, but failed to locate him.
Later on, Asaduzzaman, team leader of the local Fire Service, called a diving team from Rajshahi to search the river for two days, but they also failed to locate him. On Monday morning, Marufs body surfaced, and after seeing this, locals informed the River police.
On information, River police recovered the body from the river.
Shahjadpur PS OC Sabuj Rana confirmed the incident, adding that the body was handed over to the Sirajganj River Police to take the necessary actions.
PABNA: Police recovered the body of a man from a bamboo orchard in Ishwardi Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Tipu Pramanik, 41, a resident of Charkuruliam area under Laxmikunda Union in the upazila.
Police sources said Tipu Pramanik was coming home from Pabna Town in the morning, but the family members could not trace him as long after he did not reach.  
Later on, local people spotted his body lying in a bamboo orchard in the upazila at around 10 am and informed police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
NETRAKONA: A teenage girl, who went missing after a boat sank in the Someshwari River in Durgapur Upazila on Thursday, was found dead at a beel in Shampur area under Kalmakanda Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rekha Aktar, 17, daughter of Mohorrom Mia, a resident of Khalishpara area under Birisiri Union in Durgapur Upazila.
It was known that Rekha went missing when a boat, carrying 20 to 25 passengers, capsized in the river adjacent to the Keronkhola-Khalishapara Ferry Ghat in Durgapur Upazila on Thursday.   
Later on, divers from Mymensingh rushed to the scene and searched her but they could not find her for the last two days.
On Saturday morning, locals spotted her body in a beel in Shampur area and recovered it.
Birisiri Union Parishad Rafiqul Islam Ruhu confirmed the incident.
