Three unnatural deaths in three districts

Two men and a minor girl died in separate unnatural incidents in three districts - Dinajpur, Kushtia and Kishoreganj, recently.

PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR: A passenger of a train died unnaturally at Parbatipur Railway Junction Station in the upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The incident took place at the station at noon.

The deceased was identified as Dinesh Ghosh, 50, son of Noni Ghosh, a resident of Dakshin Sreepur Ghoshpara Village under Sundarganj Upazila in Gaibandha District.

It was known that Dineshs daughter Ripa Ghost got married with one Sajib Ghosh, son of Suvash Chandra Ghosh of Dakeshwari Village in Birganj Upazila of Dinajpur District.

On Tuesday, Dinesh was coming to visit his daughter riding on the Titumir Express train from Santahar. He went down from the train at Parbatipur Railway Junction Station at around 1:30 pm. Later on, he fell sick all of a sudden while crossing an over-bridge.

Locals then rescued him and took to Parbatipur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Dinesh dead.

Being informed, Railway police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceaseds family members without an autopsy as per their request.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Parbatipur Railway Police Station (PS) Sakiul Azam confirmed the incident.
 
DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: A minor girl died and her mother and brother were injured after mistakenly consuming pesticides in Daulatpur Upazila of the district recently.

The incident took place in Allardargah Sonaikundi Village under Hogalbaria Union of the upazila,
Deceased Meem, 3, was the daughter of Shuvo Mandal of the area.

The injured are: the deceaseds mother Nahida Begum and brother Alif, 5.  
Local sources said the trio ate pesticides thinking it as chocolate, which left them sick.

Sensing the matter, the family members rescued them and took to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Meem dead and referred the two to Kushtia General Hospital in critical condition.

Daulatpur PS OC Mahabubur Rahman confirmed the incident.

KISHOREGANJ: A trained elephant allegedly killed a pharmacy trader by twisting with its trunk as the trader refused to pay extortion to mahout in the district.

Deceased Masudur Rahman Miston, 45, was a resident of Singrail area under Nandail Upazila in Mymensingh. He ran a pharmacy, named R Pharma, in Kishoreganj Bus Stand area.

The elephant mahout Riazul Molla, 25, hailed from Gopalganj Sadar Upazila, was arrested in the incident.

According to locals, Mahout Riazul Molla was extorting money with an elephant in Nagua area of the town. At that time, the mahout asked for money at Masudur Rahmans pharmacy with the elephant.

When Masudur refused to give the money and hit the elephant, the elephant twisted him with its trunk and smashed him.

Masudur Rahman was seriously injured at that time.

He was then rescued and taken to Kishoreganj General Hospital first, and then, shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for advanced treatment.

Later on, he died at the DMCH while undergoing treatment.

Kishoreganj Sadar Model PS OC Mohammad Golam Mostafa confirmed the incident.
