Youth killed in Madaripur over land dispute

A youth was killed in a collision between two groups at Kalkini upazila in Madaripur district on Thursday over land dispute.

The deceased was identified as Sazzad Howlader, 28, son of Kalu Howlader, a resident of Chor Alimabad village in the upazila.

Eyewitnesses said, there had been a long standing dispute between Sopon Howlader and Kalu Howlader over land dispute. On Thursday morning, both group engaged in a collision over the matter. During the collision, Sazzad Howlader critically injured by the attacked of his rivals.

He was rescued and taken to earlier Kalkini Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was transferred to Barishal Medical College Hospital for better treatment where he died while undergoing treatment.
Md Nur Mohammad, sub-inspector of Kalkini Police Station, confirmed the matter.
