A 50-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle at Senbag upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday.
The incident happened in Gopalpur area on the Somir Musnhirhat-Lemua Kutberhat road in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Baker Hossain, a resident of Zadobpur village under Kabirhat upazila in the district.
It was learnt that a Kabirhat-bound auto-rickshaw collided with a motorcycle, coming from the opposite direction, in the area on Saturday afternoon, leaving Baker critically injured.
Locals rescued him and took him to Senbag Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The body was handed over to the deceased's family members without autopsy upon their request, said Md Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Senbag Police Station.
Legal actions would be taken after receiving a written complaint in this matter, the OC added.
