Housewife dies from snakebite in Cnawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 14: A housewife died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Shibganj Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jesmin Khatun, 28, daughter of policeman Rabiul Islam Rabu and wife of Sayem Ali, a resident of Nishipara Village under Paka Union in the upazila.
Paka Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdul Malek said Jesmin was doing family work at her house in the morning. At that time, a venomous snake bit her when her foot fell in a hole on the yard.
Her relatives rescued her, but she died on the way to a local hospital, the UP chairman added.
