Two killed and four others were injured in a crash between a covered van and an autorickshaw at Panchdona upazila in
Narsingdi district on Sunday.
The
accident took place on the Panchdona-Ghorashal-Tongi highway at Nagar panchdona area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Enamul Haque, 60, son of Gias Uddin, a resident of Ithakhola Munsefer Char area under Shibchar upazila and Jarif, 4, son of Abul Kalam from Tangail district.
According to locals, the duo was heading towards Tangail from Ithakhola, riding on a CNG-run autorickshaw. On the way, when they reached at Nagarpanchdona area, a speeding covered van collided head-on with their vehicle, leaving them dead on the spot and four other passengers critically injured.
The injured were rescued and rushed taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital where the physicians referred them to Dhaka for better treatment.
Confirming the matter, Madhabdi Police Station officer-in-charge Kamruzzaman said legal actions will be taken upon receiving complaint from the victim's family.
