Gaming fever grips Bangladesh as gamers win Tk 30 lakh

Bangladesh has embraced a gaming fever in an intense competition, as the nations largest mobile gaming event, Mobile Mania 2024 Powered by Airtel, concluded with a big prize giving ceremony in Dhaka. 
The event saw Ryan Ismail triumph in the eFootball segment, taking home a prize of Tk3 lakh as champion. The runner-up, Abdullah Bin Jahangir, received Tk1.5 lakh. 
The excitement was not limited to eFootball. Gamers were also engrossed in Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang during the event, says a press release. 
Held last Friday at the International Convention City, Bashundhara in Dhaka, winners across these games were awarded a total of Tk30 lakh in prizes. Present at the ceremony were Shihab Ahmad, Chief Commercial Officer of Robi Axiata Limited, and Sadaab Hossain, Managing Director and Co-founder of Discovery One Limited.
The two-month-long event was organised by the popular eSports platform Discovery One, with Airtel, a subsidiary brand of Robi Axiata Limited, as the lead partner. Over 1,700 gamers participated in the tournament.
In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, team Comfort Crowd emerged as champions, securing a prize of Tk5 lakh, while Kingsman, the runners-up, won Tk2.5 lakh. In the Call of Duty segment, Team OneHP claimed victory and received Tk4 lakh, with LBD Reborn, the runners-up, taking home Tk2 lakh.
In total, 48 teams across various categories were awarded prizes in this tournament, with winners receiving a combined prize pool of Tk30 lakh.
Commenting on the future prospects of eSports, Shihab Ahmad stated: "eSports is a promising field for us. It is gradually gaining recognition worldwide. We want Bangladesh to progress in this arena. For that, we need both skill and technical support, along with effective platforms. Robi stands with gamers, proclaiming on the international stage, Bangladesh can do it too."
Sadaab Hossain added: "We are dedicated to advancing eSports in Bangladesh. We are moving forward with the vision of setting new standards and nurturing the vast local talent we possess. We are optimistic about the talent and potential of our countrys gamers and believe we can achieve significant success on the global stage."
The event also featured a captivating performance by the countrys leading band, Artcell, leaving the winners and attendees mesmerized.
