A total of 1,630 people, including the leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat, were arrested across the country during drives conducted by the law enforcement agencies.
Of them, 601 were arrested in the last 24 hours. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested 126 people, out of 1,630.
The law enforcement agencies have continued their drives to arrest those involved in the violence during the quota reform movement.
Police sources said 133 cases have been filed in 12 days since July 12 and 1,630 people were arrested in those cases.
Of them, 1,117 were arrested in the last few days.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Additional Deputy Commissioner KN Roy Niyoti said 601 people were arrested in Dhaka in the last 24 hours.
