BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that opposition activists are being produced before court after inflicting inhuman and brutal torture on them following their wholesale arrest.

He also alleged that the ruling Awami League terrorists and law enforcing agencies together had set barbaric examples of killing by launching unprecedented attacks on students during the recent discriminatory quota reform movement. Their brutalities had surpassed all the previous brutalities in different parts of the world.
The BNP Secretary General stated it in a statement on Friday (July 26).

Mentioning that the government has resorted to indiscriminate arrest of opposition political activists and common people to conceal its terrorist activities and failures, Mirza Fakhrul said they had arrested BNP joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Barisal BNP member-secretary Ziauddin Sikder, Natore District BNP member-secretary Rahim Newaz and produced Dhaka City South BNP's former joint convener Mosharraf Hossain Khokon before court  three days after his arrest.

They have been carrying out searches in the houses of BNP leaders and workers across the country. The law enforcers have conducted raids and searches at the residences of many senior BNP leaders including BNP vice-chairman Abdul Awal Minto. "We express our grave concerned over arresting common people, sending them to jail and inflicting inhuman torture on them in custody," he said.
