Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized 2.466 kilograms of snake venom from the frontier area of Birampur upazila of Dinajpur district on Friday.

Lt. Col. Nahid Newaz, a commanding officer of BGB-20, confirmed the information in a press release in the afternoon.
"Acting on a tip-off, a team of the battalion conducted a drive in the South Damodarpur area of the upazila around 3am on Friday and seized the venom weighing around 2.466kg," reads the press release.

The confiscated snake venom, worth over Tk16 crore, was stored in two glass jars, he added.

However, no one could be arrested as the smugglers left the venom sensing the presence of the BGB, said the commander in the press release.
