Teenage girl drowns at Jagannathpur

JAGANNATHPUR, SUNAMGANJ, July 30: A teenage school girl drowned in the Kamarkhali River in Jagannathpur Upazila of the district on Monday noon.

The deceased was identified as Preti Rani Talukdar, 13, daughter of Krishna Talukdar of Chhoyhara Village in Jamalganj Upazila. She was reading in class seven in a local high school.  

Police and local sources said, she went to attend a wedding function at her aunt's home in Dasnoagaon Village under Chilaura-Holidpur Union in the  Upazila four days back. On Monday morning, she went to the river for taking bath and drowned.

Locals failed to find her.  On Tuesday morning, police recovered her body from the same place. 

Inspector (Investigation) of Jagannathour Police Station Sushankor Pal confirmed this information.
