Two 'commit suicide' in two districts

Two teenage girls allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in two districts - Netrakona and Chandpur, in two days. 

NETRAKONA: A girl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Purbadhala Upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Rita Akter Moyna, daughter of Ripon Mia, a resident of Hatkanda Village under Agia Union in the upazila. She was a fifth grader at a local school.

The deceased's mother Reshma Akter said that she went to the nearby bazaar to deliver the lunch to her son. After returning home, she found Rita hanging from the ceiling of a room at noon.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Netrakona Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Purbadhala Police Station (PS) Mohammad Rashedul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the girl might have committed suicide but the actual reason behind her death would be known after getting the autopsy report.

CHANDPUR: A teenage girl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Faridganj Upazila of the district on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Sumaiya Akter, 14, daughter of Abdul Aziz, a resident of the upazila. She was ninth grader at a local high school.

According to the deceased's family members, Sumaiya went to her room in the afternoon after having lunch with them.

Later on, he mother mother saw Sumaiya's body hanging from the ceiling in the evening when she entered the room as Sumaiya was not responding her calls from the inside.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Chandpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. 

Faridganj PS OC Md Saidul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that legal actions will be taken upon receiving the autopsy report.
