Four easybike passengers including two siblings were killed after a bus rammed an auto-rickshaw at Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in front of the Lam-Mim restaurant under Raghdi union in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Abul Bashar Sheikh, 40, and Abul Khair Sheikh,30, sons of Abu Raihan Sheik; Yar Ali, 40, and Hasan Sheikh, 26. All are residents of Bishwambhardi village in the upazila.
It was learnt that a Dhaka-bound Sakura Paribahan bus hit the auto-rickshaw when the bus overtaking a truck from the same direction in front of the Lam-Mim restaurant, leaving the two brothers dead on the spot and several others injured.
Later, Yar Ali and Hasan Sheikh succumbed to their injuries in the afternoon while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to a Gopalganj hospital morgue for autopsy, said Abu Sayed Md Khairul Anam, officer-in charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station.
