BCL, 4 student orgs welcome Jamaat, Shibir ban

Five student organisations on Thursday welcomed the government notification banning Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir.

In a joint statement, top leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League, JSD backed Bangladesh Chhatra League, Bangladesh Chhatra Maitri, Bangladesh Chhatra Andolon and Jatiya Chhatra Oikya said Jamaat-Shibir was involved in terrorism, fundamentalism, war crimes and genocide.

In this regard, a press release was issued by BCL Office Secretary Meftahul Islam Pantho.

"Student community have welcomed the government notification," said the press release.
