The Supreme Court and subordinate courts will remain closed for an indefinite period  from Monday amid violence over the ongoing non-cooperation movement pressing for government’s resignation.

Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan announced the suspension of the court’s proceedings on Sunday (August 4). Later, a notice signed by Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan was issued in this regard.
According to the notification, all the proceedings of the subordinate courts and tribunals will be closed from August 5 (Monday) until further instructions. In case of emergency, the chief justice will order any court and tribunal to conduct the proceedings.
