Seven people were killed and more than 100 injured in clashes among protesters, police and ruling party activists in the capital as unrest spread amid protests demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
Among them, an office assistant shot dead in Farmgate, two killed in Uttara, one killed in Jigatola, two killed in Mirpur
Their bodies were kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Some protesters took away five bodies and marched towards Shaheed Minar. They kept there for sometime and then move towards Shahbagh with the bodies.
In Farmgate, Tahidul Islam, an office assistant who worked at Mohakhali DOHS, was shot dead in the area.
In Karwan Bazar, Rezaul Karim Rouf, a student of Daffodil International University, was killed after he was shot during a clash on Sunday.
He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the on duty doctor declared him dead.
In Uttara, a student and an Awami League leader were killed and 30 others were injured during clashes between protesters and supporters of the ruling Awami League.
The AL leader was Anwarul Islam, former president of Dhaka North AL Ward-1 while the student was Mahim, 17, according to health officials at Uttara Adhunik Hospital where Mahim was taken with bullet injuries. He died while on the way to the hospital.
In Jigatola, a student of Habibullah Bahar Degree College Abdullah Siddiqui, 23, was shot in the area.
He was taken to the DMCH at around 4PM where the doctors declared him dead.
In Mirpur, two people have been killed and over 20 injured in Mirpur-10 during clashes.
The deceased was identified as Miraz, 24, was shot in his chest with a shotgun. Doctors declared him dead when he was taken to Mir Azmal Ali Hospital.
Another person with injuries received died at the National Institute of Neuro Sciences & Hospital in Agargaon in the afternoon.
