Three people arrested with drugs in Bhola, Rajshahi

Three people including a woman were arrested along with drugs in separate drives in two districts - Bhola and Rajshahi, on Saturday.

LALMOHAN, BHOLA: Police, in a drive, arrested a female drug dealer along with one kilogram of hemp from Lalmohan Upazila in the district on Saturday afternoon.

The arrested person is Mst Salma Begum, 28, wife of Md Shakil, a resident of Ward No. 9 Satbaria Abasan area under Badarpur Union in the upazila. 

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lalmohan Police Station (PS) Md Abu Yusuf said that on information, a team of the law enforcers conducted a drive in Lalmohan Municipality Gate area in the afternoon, and detained Salma Begum along with the hemp.

After filing of a case under the Narcotics Control Act with Lalmohan PS, the arrested woman has been produced before the court on Sunday morning, the SI added. 

RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two drug peddlers along with 112 kilograms of hemp from Godagari Upazila in the district early Saturday.

The arrested men are: Mosharaf Hossain, 38, son of late Nazrul Islam of Fulbari Village under Godagari Upazila in Rajshahi; and Muhammad Sharif, 27, son of late Abdul Maleque of Ghorashal Village under Muradnagar Upazila in Comilla RAB-5 sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the house of Mosharaf Hossain in Fulbari Village of the upazila at around 1:30 am, and detained the duo red-handed along with the hemp.

A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed against them with Godagari PS in this regard, the RAB sources added.
