US Embassy's spokesperson Leonard Hill has said on Tuesday that US law does not permit discussing the details of individual visa cases.

Amid speculations regarding whether or not the United States has cancelled Sheikh Hasina's visa, the US Embassy in Bangladesh said on Tuesday that individual visa records cannot be discussed publicly.

"Visa records are confidential under US law; therefore, we do not discuss the details of individual visa cases," US Embassy spokesperson Leonard Hill said.

Amid rumours that Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in Delhi, will go to London to seek asylum, the UK Home Office told NDTV this morning that British immigration rules do not allow individuals to travel to that country to seek asylum or temporary refuge.
