Sajib Wazed Joy, son of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, on Wednesday urged the leaders and activists to stand with courage against the ongoing countrywide destruction and anarchy.

Giving indication of Sheikh Hasina's come back to politics again in a video message, Joy said, "An unusual situation is prevailing in Bangladesh now. Incidents of destruction, violence and looting are going on across the country. Awami League leaders and activists are being tortured. Many people were killed. In this situation, we cannot give up our hopes and we have to turn around again," he said in the message.

"Bangladesh Awami League is the oldest, largest and democratic political party in the country. Awami League has not died. Awami League brought the country's independence. It cannot be destroyed. I have told earlier that our family will return to politics again. But, we cannot give up hope when our leaders and activists are being attacked and killed," he stated.

Urging the party men, Joy added, "It is not possible to build a new Bangladesh and democracy with Awami League. It is the largest political party of Bangladesh. Awami League will never go anywhere. Awami League will never be destroyed, can never be ended. You turn back with courage. You are not alone, we are with you."

"Bangabandhu's family has not gone anywhere. We are along with you. We will do everything possible to save the leaders and activists of Awami League. I am telling those who are in power now that we also want a democratic and disciplined Bangladesh, but free from militancy. In this regards, we want to discuss with everyone, if they leave militancy and terrorism," he added.

He said, "Sheikh Hasina has not died. We have not gone anywhere. And finally, there will be no election and democracy without Awami League."
