RAJSHAHI, Aug 9: After traffic management and cleaning, now students have started monitoring kitchen markets in the district.

On Friday morning, they went to Sahebbazar in the city; they checked prices of different items.

They also talked with sellers of different shops including that of onion-garlic, spices, fish and hen.

They were assisted by their teachers. Students held meeting with market association leaders.

At that time, traders demanded reducing lease fee, stopping extortion and ensuring security.

Students asked for hanging commodity price lists and requested for not taking extra prices. Their initiative was welcomed by general consumers.

Students said, if price of any item is increased without any reasons, then they take measures.
