Man found dead at Dhamoirhat

DHAMOIRHAT, NAOGAON, Aug 9: Ansar members recovered the body of a man from a road in Dhamoirhat Upazila in the district on Thursday. 

The body was recovered from the Farshipara-Rangamati rural road in Bheram area of the upazila in the morning. 

The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 54, son of late Tachhim Uddin Mandal of Gobarchanpa area in Badalgachhi Upazila of the district. He used to live in Bheram area under Dhamoirhat Upazila. Rafiqul Islam, father of two daughters and a son, was a farmer and fisherman by profession.   

It was known that locals spotted the body of Rafiqul lying on the Farshipara-Rangamati rural road in Bheram area of the upazila in the morning and informed the matter to police. 

Police did not come to the scene. 

Later on, members of Ansar rushed in and recovered the body.

The body was then sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The body bore several injury marks on its different parts including the head. 

The deceased's elder brother Md Habibul Mandal claimed that Rafiqul had no relation with any political parties, neither previous enmity with anyone.  

Officer-in-Charge of Dhamoirhat Police Station Md Bahauddin Faruquee confirmed the incident, adding that the actual reason behind his death would be known after investigation and getting the autopsy report.
