Rover scouts, BNCC members controlling traffic on Gaibandha roads

GAIBANDHA, Aug 12: A number of students who are involved in rover scouts, BNCC (Bangladesh National Cadet Corps) of different academic institutions have been controlling traffic on the roads to help run the vehicular movement smoothly. 

Sources said as the police are observing work abstention programme, they are not seen on the roads of the district to perform their professional duties after the step down of Sheikh Hasina's government.
 
For not having traffic police on duty on the roads, traffic jam was occurring on the roads, particularly the intersections of the roads, as they had to wait on the roads for hours. 

Taking the matter to cognizance, the members of rover scouts, BNCC of different academic institutions have been working to control traffic system.
 
Md Shamsuzzoha, rover scout leader of Gaibandha Adarsha College, said, at least 10 rover scouts of the college are working to control traffic system in the town here to help run vehicular movement on the road without traffic jam.

In addition, a number of youths are also doing the same work as volunteers, Zoha also said. 

Vice principal of Gaibandha Government College Professor Abdur Rashid said, the BNCC members of the college have been engaged in maintaining traffic system on the roads of the town here being inspired during the current changed situation.

The elite of the town have appreciated the traffic-related works of the rover scouts and BNCC  volunteers.  

A senior citizen of the district on condition of anonymity said, it is not possible to control traffic system on the roads by the students for long time; the traffic police should join the work and perform their professional duty without delay, considering the welfare of the state.
