‘Students-people joint efforts needed to stop destructive activities’

Collaborative efforts of students and mass-people can be the crucial means of restoring peace and tranquillity through stopping all sorts of destructive activities everywhere in Rajshahi City.

Students and communities as a whole side by side with local administration and armed forces should come forward and work together to overcome the present crisis collectively.
The observation came at a view-exchange meeting between coordinators of anti-discrimination students' movement and army and civil administrative officers held in the office conference room of the deputy commissioner's (DC) office in the city on Saturday.

With DC Shamim Ahmed in the chair, Army Commanding Officer Lt Col Shamim Ahmed, Superintendent of Police Saifur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abdur Raquib and Deputy Director of Local Government Division Ashraful Islam were also present at the meeting.

Among other coordinators, Golam Kibria Chowdhury, Masud Rana, Mehedi Hassan, Naosaj Hassan, Tanveer Ahmed, Mehedi Sajib and Akib Bin Tareb joined the meeting sharing their views on the issue.

Additional DC (ADC) Kolyan Chowdhury, ADC Sarker Asim Kumar, ADC Tuktuk Talukder and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhijit Sarker were also present there.

DC Shamim Ahmed said the nation has been passing through a troubled time at present and all conscious people should discharge their duties from their own position cautiously to attain a desired yield.
