The Bangladesh national men's cricket team arrived in Lahore, Pakistan on Tuesday to play a two-match Test series against the hosts. The matches are part of the World Test Championship.
Earlier, the cricketers departed Dhaka for Pakistan on an Emirates Airlines flight and arrived in Lahore via Dubai. Upon their arrival in Pakistan, the Bangladesh team was warmly welcomed with flowers. Officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board greeted the Bangladeshi cricketers, coaches and support staff with smiles.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and pacer Shoriful Islam, who are currently in Canada playing in the Major Cricket League, will join the team directly in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque and Mahmudul Hasan Joy traveled to Pakistan with the 'A' team earlier. Pacer Taskin Ahmed, who travelled on Monday will also join the 'A' team to play in the four-day match against Pakistan-A, as he will only participate in the second match of the Test series.
The Bangladesh cricket team will practice for three days at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore starting today. They will then move to Islamabad on the 17th of this month and practice at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium until the start of the first Test on the 21st at the same venue.
