Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team suffered its consecutive second defeat in the Top End T20 series in Australia when Adelaide Strikers Academy thrashed them by eight wickets at Darwin on Wednesday.

Put into bat first, Bangladesh HP came up with yet another reckless batting show to be restricted to 147-8 with Shamim Patwari hitting highest 42, BSS reports.
Adelaide raced to the victory with 14 balls to spare, reaching the winning target of 148 with the loss just two wickets.

Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim continued his poor form, being out for 1 as Bangladesh made a disastrous start. Parvez Hossain Emon, the top-scorer for Bangladesh in the last two matches, this time got one bad day in office as he made just 8. And when Afif Hossain was out for 2, Bangladesh HP were reduced to 23-3 in fourth over.

Opener Jishan who made 21 ball-26, followed them later, leaving Bangladesh at 52-4. Skipper Akbar Ali and Shamim Patwari then played two crucial knocks to help the side go past 100.

Akbar made 36 off 35 with one four and two sixes while Shamim's 32 ball-42 was studded by three fours and one six.

Tim Oakley and Harry Manenti claimed three wickets apiece for Adelaide.

Adelaide made the chase a cake-walk, thanks to opener Jake Winter's 54 ball-82 not out, an innings laced with 10 fours and three sixes. Noah Mcfayden was the other notable scorer with 38.

Ripon Mondol and Abu Haider Rony took the fallen two wickets of Adelaide.

Earlier, HP won their first match against Melbourne Renegades by 77 runs before losing to Tasmania Tigers by five wickets in the second game.
