Kapati-Chattogram-Shilchhari road at Kaptai turns clayey

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, Aug 16: After being hit by Cyclone Remal, the Kapati-Chattogram-Shilchhari road in Kaptai Upazila of the district has turned deplorable, causing immense public sufferings.

This is along the new police station of Kaptai and Ansar Battalion. Both sides of the road have been clayey, turning it into a narrow muddy channel. 

General people and transport drivers are suffering on the road. The road stretch up to  Sheetarghat has been much worse.

In the last year,  clayey soil was removed by college students and youths of red crescent society on the volunteer basis.

A local Enamul Haq Bachchu said, "We can't move on the road. We have to communicate on the road regularly facing problem."
He demanded removing clay rapidly to restore smooth communications on the road.

A member of Shilchhari of Wagga Union Sarowar Hossain demanded permanent solution to the clayey road by removing the clay.

Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mahiuddin said, "The road belongs to Roads and Highways Department (RHD). I will discuss with RHD-Chattogram, and then necessary measure will be taken."
