Conspiracy on to reintroduce student politics at JnU

A group within Jagannath University has been accused of plotting to reintroduce student politics on campus.

This group is allegedly spreading misleading information via social media and other channels to confuse the students.

On Saturday, a statement from a new student platform, 'Jagannath University Reform Movement,' highlighted the allegations and urged students to remain vigilant.

Students claimed a certain political group has been conspiring from the outset to revive patronage politics. It is alleged that the Socialist Students' Front, a leftist student organisation, is working behind the scene in collaboration with the student wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

It has been alleged that some members of the Awami League's student wing are inciting leftist groups and the BNP's student wing to undermine student unity.

On August 5, following a call for the resignation of autocratic leader Sheikh Hasina, Jagannath University students became vocal about banning politics on campus.

However, leftist student organisations have consistently opposed ban, deeming it unjustifiable.

The Jagannath University branch of the Socialist Students' Front, led by Evan Tahsib and Mujahid Bappi, has been inactive in the anti discrimination movement.
Their involvement in the Socialist Students' Front has led to negative perceptions among students. Despite this, general students are calling for the movement to remain free from political influence.
