Metro rail to resume operation from Sunday

Metro Rail authorities have expressed their hope to resume train operations from Sunday (August 25) as employees, who have been observing work abstention since August 6, have joined work.

Md Ahsanul Haque, senior secretary of Road Transport and Highways Division, visited the Bangladesh Secretariat metro rail station on Tuesday (August 20). After discussion, he directed the officials and employees concerned to take necessary steps for resuming the train operation soon.

MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) and other top officials were also present.

Trains will not stop at vandalised Mirpur-10 and Kazipara metro rail stations.

Metro Rail services was suspended on July 18 after two stations were vandalised during the anti-quota movement.
