21.6pc mobile towers in 11 dists inactive in floods

Close to half the mobile towers in Feni are out of service after waters from India and heavy rains rivers breach dam and inundated localities in the district. 

Most of the mobile phones in the district have been cut off.
Mohammad Jashim Uddin, a spokesman for the telecommunications ministry, said the flooding has disrupted the functioning of 42.2 per cent of the mobile towers in the district. 

In Khagrachhari, the ratio is 41.5 per cent.
