Azad made Deputy Press Secy to Chief Adviser

Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder has been appointed as the deputy press secretary to the Chief Adviser to the interim government.

A notification on his hiring was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.

The notice said that Azad Majumder shall perform the contractual duties of the post during the tenure of the chief adviser or subject to his satisfaction (whichever comes first) and subject to the severance of working relationships with other institutions and organisations. 

His salary was set at a maximum of Tk 71,200 per month with facilities.

Azad was most recently employed as the joint news editor of the English daily New Age. On Aug 14, Shafiqul Alam, the bureau chief of news agency AFP, was appointed as the press secretary.

Apurba Jahangir has also been appointed as deputy press secretary to the chief adviser and Shabbir Ahmed as assistant private secretary.    —bdnews24.com
