Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, who teaches development studies, is set to be appointed the new Vice-Chancellor at Dhaka University.

For more than two weeks, the top public university has had no one at the helm.

Education Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid told bdnews24.com on Monday that an official announcement on the matter will be made on Tuesday.

Prof Niaz Ahmed studied public administration and teaches development studies.

He served as acting VC at Independent University of Bangladesh for a while.
