Adani power plant has started to supply full capacity power generation as its second unit came into operation and produces around 668.57 MW on Tuesday.
The second unit shut down on August 13 due to some technical glitches. As a result, Adani was providing the maximum power as per the government's demand through the first unit. The second unit also returned to production on Monday night, a company release has said.
"On August 27, the first unit supplied a record 513.32 MW and the second unit 668.57 MW at 8:00 AM. Around 1 PM, the first unit recorded 593.35 MW and the second unit 763.94 MW," it added.
In a recent statement, Adani apologised for the unexpected technical glitch. According to the company, "Such untoward incidents can happen in the operation of power plants of any domestic or international company like Adani. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Hope to be able to return to full power generation soon." After that, from this morning, electricity supply resumed in Bangladesh through two units.
Meanwhile, the recent amendments to the Electricity Act in India will have no effect on the electricity supply agreement between the two countries. Adani is contractually committed to uninterrupted power supply. Adani is providing electricity even though it owes about $800 million, the release added.
